Internal Factors Affecting Customers Decision Making Coursework
Essays on Internal Factors Affecting Customers Decision Making Coursework The paper "Internal Factors Affecting Customerââ¬â¢s Decision Making" is a brilliant example of coursework on marketing. Apparently, the customer is the most important stakeholder in a business. This is for the straightforward reason that, it is because of the demand created by the customersââ¬â¢ needs that an organization is in operation (Wright 2006). It, therefore, becomes a matter of common reasoning that an organization should, at all times to endeavor to understand all the factors, both internal and external, that influence the decision-making process of an individual. Decision making is a complicated process and it entails a number of steps. Majorly, the internal factors of an individual decision-maker outweigh the external factors affecting decision making. For instance, the personality of an individual will always prevail, in the event that an advertisement is in contravention of what the personality of an individual stands for. The study of the manner in which custome rs make decisions is what is commonly referred to as the science of consumer behavior. This paper endeavors to bring out all the primary internal factors that affect the decision making of an individual consumer, in light of mobile phones as a key product. The paper does this, in light of the most important aspects and theories of consumer behavior.Relevant theories and conceptsTalking of internal factors affecting decision making, many theories and concepts come into play. Even so, not all concepts and theories are equally important. Some theories are more significant than others, for the simple reason that they explain the internal factors better than the other perspectives. In this case, the most important concepts include the concept of need recognition, perception, personality, and lifestyle, as well as attitudes. These are the most significant because they show where the urge to buy originates and examine the possibility of such a purchase actually taking place. Summarily, the se factors address the force behind the decision to buy, and the major factors that influence what are to be bought (De Mooij, 2010). Taking the example of a cell phone, the first thing that will initiate the decision to buy is the need to communicate. As such, the customer must first recognize the need to communicate. After recognizing the need, personality will come into play, in deciding which type of phone the individual shall buy. Personality refers to the unique characteristics of a person. These dictate the kind of phone the person should buy. After that, the person will sample out various types and select one, depending o what his perception directs him to choose. After the purchase, the customer may develop an attitude in such a manner that he will never buy a phone of a different make, design or company. This is what is referred to as a permanent attitude.
Breaking All the Rules Free Essays
In How To Succeed In Business By Breaking All The Rules it states that to succeed in business one must be able to use an unorthodox style which allows that person to break free from ancient ways of thinking and be able to use new ideas in developing entrepreneurial and business skills. One way this will be proven is to look at how positive thinking and motivation hamper people in making tough business decisions. Secondly, this will be proven by examining the education system, and showing that one does not always need a university education to perform in a business environment. We will write a custom essay sample on Breaking All the Rules or any similar topic only for you Order Now Thirdly, this will be proven by looking at the behavioral aspects of an entrepreneur, and how an entrepreneurââ¬â¢s thinking pattern is quite unique compared to the average person. Finally, this will be proven by looking at the illusions of management and how managers have to adapt if they want to see results. ââ¬Å"Forget just about everything you were told about positive thinking and motivation. â⬠Positive thinking and motivation can encumber persons in business if not executed properly. People assume that by being positive they are in turn motivating people to work hard and complete tasks without impeding their space. This is not entirely true. There is a joke that many motivational speakers tell, as an illustration of positive thinking: ââ¬Å"A guy has tripped and fallen off the roof of a thirty-story building. He is falling toward certain death. Some one yells out the fifteenth-story window, ââ¬Ëhow are you doing? ââ¬Ë And the falling fellow hollers back, ââ¬ËOkay so far! ââ¬Ëâ⬠This joke is not an accurate representation of positive thinking. It illustrates stupidity. This joke has taken positive thinking way out of proportion. It is okay to be positive when approaching tough situations, but a constant bombarding of motivational thoughts may in turn impede the situation overall. People are taught from the start that there are no bad ideas, and in-turn people who criticize these bad ideas are looked upon as ââ¬Å"negative thinkersâ⬠. Cynicism can actually be a healthy practice. By seeking out and eliminating bad ideas right from the get-go, the business or corporation is able appropriately deal with the problem and in a sense ââ¬Å"nip it in the budâ⬠. A person can think positive all that they want, but they are still going to spill coffee on their new tie. By over-motivating a person, the same effect can happen. A person has to want to be motivated for it to work properly. ââ¬Å"The Old Testamentâ⬠of motivation states that any person can do any thing as long as they are motivated to do so. This is not entirely true. In order for a person to be motivated they must believe the idea. Sounds like an oxy-moron, but a person needs to be inspired before motivation can take place. For instance, a person needs to want a post secondary education before they can be motivated to do so. A person does not necessarily need a university education to succeed in business. There is not really anything wrong with a university education as long as the person attending understands what it is and what it is not. For some careers a university education is essential. For instance, people do not look kindly to a self-taught brain surgeon. The problem is that a university education only offers you theoretical situations instead of practical life situations that can only be achieved through experiencing life. People tend to worry that without at least a degree in a particular field, they are unable to start their own lucrative business, and have the consumers take them seriously. Often people believe that without the proper credentials, it is impossible for their business to ever get off the ground. This is not true. There are many examples of companies that were started by supposedly ââ¬Å"uneducatedâ⬠people, who have turned their respective businesses into multi-million dollar corporations. For instance, Dave Thomas, founder and owner of the Wendyââ¬â¢s Corporation. With nothing better than a grade 10 education Thomas took his first Wendyââ¬â¢s that opened in 1969, and turned it into over 4000 locations across North America. Thomas was credited with hard work and life skills that helped him in his venture. From working as a busboy in a small town diner, to cooking for thousands as a chief in the army, Thomas learned the skills needed to create a lucrative business without any formal education. There are thousands of examples of entrepreneurs with no formal education that have made it in the business world. The most important thing to understand is that a business can only go as far as the people are willing to take them. Meaning that if you want to be successful you can encourage your self to take it to the next level without formal education. If you have a formal education, by all means make the most of it. But never use lack of formal education as an excuse and never let yourself feel inferior to those with better formal educations. There is abundant proof that you can reach just about any heights in business without college or even high school education if you will do the things necessary to otherwise obtain the information and master the skills specifically relevant to your objectives. Entrepreneurs are not always the best educated, but share a thinking pattern unlike those of regular people and are able to take any business with a solid foundation and turn it in to a productive money-making machine. In order to be a successful entrepreneur, one must be able to go against the grain of normal business practice and be able to perform at a pace where they leave the competition in the dust with no remorse. The old saying: ââ¬Å"there are no rules when it comes to love and warâ⬠also applies to entrepreneurs in business. An entrepreneur must be able show no compassion towards anybody in order to get the job done. It sounds cruel, but some of the most successful people in business today have no remorse for their competition. For example, Mark McCormack the creator of International Management Group (an athlete management corporation) started off with little more than a $1000 and a hand shake, but developed his business into a multi-million dollar corporation by leaving his competition way behind. McCormack was able to do something that had never been attempted before. Many companies fail to place a premium on the real dollar worth of their expertise, or what it would cost an outsider to learn what they already know. McCormack was able to market his knowledge to companies that were unaware of what they really had inside. By showing them what they already new, but by changing the way that they marketed the product McCormack was able to, almost over night, turn a small company distributing out of a barn, into a power house in todayââ¬â¢s sports entertainment industry. McCormack did not accomplish such a feat by caring about the little guy. In most cases, entrepreneurs are able to set aside their morals and values and go in for the kill. Successful entrepreneurs have a different way of approaching tough business decisions than the average person. They do not look at the situation or problem as how it affects the other guy, but how it affects them. When making tough business decisions, an entrepreneur must ask if solution best suits him, or if it best suits morality? In order for the entrepreneur to succeed, the solution must best suit his needs and not the needs of the other guy. Unsuccessful entrepreneurs often find themselves debating on whether or not to charge customers most money the can for their product or service. They feel that by undercutting prices they are in-turn helping themselves to sleep better at night, but you cannot sleep if you cannot afford a place to sleep. In order to be self-sufficient, entrepreneurs must give up morales and values and be able to do what best suits them. The same is true for management in that if the want results from their workers then they must be able to adapt their style to best fit the interests at hand. There is a fairy tale about managers in business, especially big business: ââ¬Å"that corporate leaders are conservative, rational, deliberate people who arrive at important decisions only after carefully weighing a wealth of data and information. â⬠In most cases managers and corporate leaders rely on their staff to provide them with the information needed to make these tough business decisions. Mangers then are faced with the consequences if the result is less than ââ¬Å"kosher. â⬠As the old saying goes: ââ¬Å"if you want something done right you have to do it yourselfâ⬠applies when it comes to managing a top firm. In order for a manager to succeed, they must adapt their staff into a well-oiled machine that works for the most common goal. Managers have to set goals and limitations and make sure that their staff follow the guidelines appropriately for maximum production. Managers cannot baby their staff, as they cannot afford to lend the time in a high-speed industry or business. ââ¬Å"If you canââ¬â¢t take the heat, get out of the kitchen. â⬠It is the managers responsibility to weed out those that are not able to perform with the rest of the unit, and in-turn hire people with the skills that best fit their own goals and ambitions. Managers also must be able to go on their own instincts and not always follow facts and figures alone. A good manager is able to assess the situation and then make a decision based on their gut reaction. With these tools a manger is able to ââ¬Å"succeed in business by breaking all the rules. â⬠Managers must use an unorthodox style which allows them to break free from ancient ways of thinking to develop new skills that will help them perform better in their respective businesses. By understanding that positive thinking and motivation can be taken out of context, one can be inspired to change the way that they approach tough business decisions. By also understanding that one does not necessarily need a university education to succeed in business, but by utilizing life experience they can relate business problems to real life situations, and can then solve the problem with their best interests in mind. Finally mangers and entrepreneurs must think of themselves first, and then, and only then, will they be able to successfully attack tough business decisions. LSI Essays - Humor Styles, Humour, Personal Styles,
My LSI primary styles is Conventional. My LSI backup style is Affiliative. In this assignment I will go over how these styles apply to my life and how they also apply to my work. I will also go over my limiting styles, how personal styles impact my management style, origins of my personal styles, and a goal I hope my work in GM591 will address. My LSI Primary style is Conventional. The conventional style is a conforming style that represents adhering to rules and established procedures, maintaining a low profile, and "blending in" with our particular environment to avoid calling attention to ourselves. I work with contracts, contract language, and established procedures in my current and past jobs. My job requires that I follow the language in our contracts so that I am compliant with procedures and the law. My job does not have that much room for flexibility and creativity. I am also a low key person at work and outside of work. I do not crave attention and I do not try to be competitive with people. I agree with the results that my LSI Primary style is Conventional. I tend to want to fit in and not stand out. My backup style is Affiliative. This style represents a need for social interaction and interpersonal contact. Affiliative people seek out, establish, value, and maintain close associations with others. These individuals appreciate people and enjoy being in the company of others. In my current position I have to establish relationships with our customers and co-workers. They depend on me and I depend on them regarding deadlines, accountability and requests. I enjoy working with people and feel over time I have built strong bonds at work and in my personal life with people that I could trust and they could trust me. I was surprised by the high score in this category. I tend to not be that social and I do not go out of my way to meet new people. My limiting style is Perfectionistic. People that have this style work to make things the best they can be. My job is very detail orientated and there is room to make a lot of errors. I work with a person that I would consider a perfectionist. She is very talented and knowledgeable and I try to mimic the way she works. Her perfectionistic ways are sometime on overdrive and she expects everyone to be like her. She has gotten into arguments with others. Her message is good but tends to be delivered in a bossy stuck up manner. I would like to be more of a perfectionist, but do it in a way that would bring people together rather than making people feel intimidated dealing with me. My other limiting style is Power. Individuals who seek power are motivated by a need to gain prestige, status and influence: they achieve false, temporary feelings of self-worth by striving to be "in charge" at all times. I am an individual contributor at work. I do not have anyone reporting to me. I only have to manage my work and customer account relationships. I would like to have a position in the future where people report to me. I feel I need to be more competitive, out-going, and individualistic to be recognized, promoted, or be considered for a people management position. I agree with the survey results for this category. I do not like people that are overtly power hungry. I have worked for and with people like that, and these people were very unpopular in the workplace. I saw corruption and discrimination used by power hungry people in my work experience. When it comes to planning and organizing within my job function, I use the Conventional style. I have learned the procedures at my job. I have also done my job enough times to know what works and what does not work. I have learned from my co-workers the way I should do my job based on procedures, policies, and best practices. My job is pretty straightforward. I have deadlines that I need to meet. I know what is expected of me. There usually are no surprises. The Conventional style does not change often and

fatboy slim bio essays
fatboy slim bio essays With Fatboy Slim albums, the clue is always in the title, and Norman Cook's third outing is no exception. Norman was staying at LA's Chateau Marmont hotel, when the title came to him. As the New Year dawned Norman ventured back into his home studio in Brighton, England to make the most emotional, innovative album of his career. Norman explains the progression by pointing out that "The Rockafeller Skank" was the first track he recorded for his last album, and "Right Here Right Now" was the last. The first UK single, 'Sunset (Bird Of Prey)' is adapted from an ambient track that Norman wrote several years ago. So Norman Cook's back, but he does not want to get any bigger, just better. Fatboy Slim is the newest alter ego of DJ Norman Cook. The Beats international album Let Them Eat Bingo (1990) was a dub filled sound-fest. Norman and others had succeeded in creating unique and original music almost completely out of the use of other records. Beats international recorded another album "Excursion on the Version" (1991), where Norman's musical songwriting talent shone through more than on the previous album. (The first three tracks on the album are damn fine tho). Beats international toured for a while, where Norman met multitalented brass player, vocalist and all round 'artistic entrepreneur' Ashley Slater (previously from cult UK funk group Microgroove). Ashley arranged and played brass for the second Beats International album, but Beats was disbanded in favour of a new group - Freakpower. In fact, Freakpower's first album Drive Thru Booty (1994) was mainly made up from material that Norman had written for a third Beats International Album. This dub material sounds similar to the "Praise You - Original Version" remix which is found on the Right Here Right Now Fatboy Slim single. The track became a summer anthem, Launching Freakpower ...

Multiplier-accelerator models Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Multiplier-accelerator models - Essay Example Keynes argued that level of output will increase due to multiplier relationship between output and autonomous consumption. (Hartley, J. et al. 1998). Change in output due to change in investment can be described in following manner: The Accelerator model is based upon the assumption if current economic activity increases, it will allow entrepreneurs to expand productive capacity by investing into additional capital stock . The Acceleration principle also outlines that there will be an increase in the output level with the increase in investment and there will be an additional investment when output increases. The above relationship suggests that consumption comprises of overall autonomous consumption and the propensity to consume with respect to the past income of an individual. Samuelsonââ¬â¢s model therefore outlines different parametric conditions under which economy can move and as such economic cycles can occur. Samuelssonââ¬â¢s model is considered as incomplete as a theory of regular cycles because of its inability to predict regular business cycles however, it is still considered as one of the key advances in macroeconomic theory. Lloyd Metzlerââ¬â¢s model was based upon his famous Inventory Cycle principle and suggested that the precise inventory policy as chosen by the producers might have an impact on the economic cycles. This model outlines that the change in output is a relationship between the consumption and investment and investment comprises of the investments made in inventory considering capital stock as constant. (Sà ¸rensen, and Whitta-Jacobsen, 2010). Hicksian Model was also another attempt to understand the business cycles and how consumption and investment actually have an impact on the income level. Hicks assumed that the consumption is the function of past income while investor attempts to maintain a stock of capital in relation with the income. The combination of income and consumption therefore can generate oscillation in income or

The History and General Overview of Gay Marriages Research Paper
The History and General Overview of Gay Marriages - Research Paper Example Thirty eight states in the US have adopted provisions that prohibit same sex marriage. This is achievable through the adoption of the ââ¬Å"defense of marriageâ⬠provisions in the US constitutions. Universally, marriage means a legal union between a man and woman. The couples become husband and wife in the institution of marriage. There are various states known to ban same sex marriages and gender (Samar 54). In the twenty states of US, they have placed this language when it comes to their state constitutions. An additional ten states have legislative language that adopts the restrictive language. This does not include Washington and Maryland as of this year (2012) they adopted laws that allowed same sex marriages. Currently, there are also six states and the District of Columbia permits marriage by persons of the same sex. The highest courts in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Iowa ruled that the state's constitution did recommend same sex partners to be accorded similar rights as the opposite sex. In DC, New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire, their legislative organs have passed legislative changes to allow same sex marriage (Samar 55). The above mentioned states perform same sex marriages. ... Marriage in different states is a secular activity, and the government should not start making laws just because religion demands (Samar 55). Marital Benefit Gay couples deserve to enjoy the benefits other married couples do enjoy. Such benefits will include shared ownership and having the decision making capacity. Marriage is more than just a legal status. The legal status is instrumental in regards to the subject of tax, ownership of property, benefits from the insurance, and agency laws. It can also affect serious medical decisions (Samar 55). Medical decision includes instances of personal incapacitation or surgery. Gay Marriage as a Lifestyle In the today world, homosexuality has become a situation that is acceptable, and there is biological evidence that one been gay is in their DNA. Homosexuality been seen as a deviant sexual behavior for a long time. There are history books and psychological research that supports these allegations. The term lesbian originates from a Greek is land Lesbos (Samar 55). At the same time, there are biological reasons to support homosexuality and the issues of it been genetic are yet to be fully proved. Discrimination of Minorities The foundation of America embraces majority rule, however, a greater deal of protecting the rights of minorities. The Bill of Rights supports the need to protect the rights of minorities, anti slavery, and protection of the equal amendments (Samar 55). This contributes to the opinion that denying gay couples to be married is the same as denying marriage among Hispanic and Black Couples. Should Gay Marriages be supported (NO)? Religion considers it to be Sin Homosexuality is a cardinal sin among various religions around the globe. The basic or societal morals state that homosexuality and gay marriages are
